WHAT IS AN UNCONFERENCE ?

It is the opposite of a conference. In a typical conference, the participant follows a conventional structured programme of event. The organiser normally set the agendas and schedule throughout the event

Unconference is essentially a participants driven meeting emphasising on the informal exchange of information and ideas between participant. These are what we try to achieve during an unconference.

  1. Focused on discussion.

  2. Informal gathering of collaborators.

  3. Participants set the agenda.

How SpaceUp works?

SpaceUp is an unconference, also known as a user-generated conference or a BarCamp. There are no spectators at SpaceUp, only participants. All attendees are expected to give a demo, present a talk, or participate in a panel or roundtable.

It’s not as scary as it might sound, though. Sessions at SpaceUp are conversations, just like every conversation you’ve had (or wanted to have) at any other conference. The only difference is that the sessions are planned on the spot, which means we’re sure to be talking about topics we find interesting.

FORMAT

  1. The day will be triggered off with a small introductory talk.

  2. A board would display the sessions’ schedule and venue.

  3. Anyone who wishes to initiate a new topic apart from the ones on the board may propose the topic to be included on the board anytime.

T-5 PRESENTATION

To break the ice and set the ball rolling, a five minute talk on each of the themes will be arranged by the organiser. Besides, the person initiating each topic would be required to start the discussion with small introductory talk.
